Vijay Kurkal joined Insight in 2016 and works closely with the executive team of portfolio companies to accelerate growth, and scale their operations. Specifically he spends significant time building and scaling the Go-To-Market and sales operations capabilities of these companies. Vijay also supports diligence of new opportunities with a focus on Enterprise Software companies.
Prior to Insight, Vijay spent almost 3 years at VMware as a key leader in scaling and transforming its Americas business. As Head of GTM Strategy and Sales Operations for a key segment of the business, he spearheaded several initiatives including– strategic planning, coverage model redesign & headcount optimization, customer segmentation, account planning for strategic customers, forecasting process re-design and implementation of tools such as Salesforce and Anaplan.
Vijay also spent 8 years at Bain & Company, in New York, where he was a leader in its technology practice. As a Principal, he worked closely with the executive teams of several large enterprise technology companies to develop their growth strategies. He was also part of Bain’s Private Equity Group, where he led several private-equity diligences and corporate M&A.
Earlier in his career, Vijay worked at IBM in Singapore, where he was part of the enterprise solutions sales team.
Vijay earned a MBA from Columbia Business School where he was a Board of Overseers Fellow, and a Bachelor of Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
