EXTON, Pennsylvania., and CHICAGO – Frontline Technologies, a leading provider of web-based tools for the K-12 education market, today announced that it acquired Aspex Solutions, the provider of the popular AppliTrack talent management suite.

"We are extremely excited to welcome the AppliTrack team," said Frontline Technologies Managing Partner Michael Blackstone. “They have done an outstanding job of building and growing a successful product that is used and loved by thousands of school districts. This acquisition will not only enable more growth for AppliTrack, but will also support our vision to provide a comprehensive set of software tools that allows school districts to effectively and efficiently manage human capital.”

Chicago-based Aspex Solutions was founded in 1998 and is best known for AppliTrack, a suite of tools used to manage and automate each process related to the employment lifecycle of education professionals – from recruit and hire to retire. Offering three solutions – Recruiting, Selection, and HR Files – AppliTrack has grown to serve more than 3,000 customers across the United States and also includes K12JobSpot, the country’s most frequently visited K-12 job board.

“We are delighted to become part of the Frontline family,” said Aspex Solutions President and Founder Abe Reese. “I am so proud of the hard work our team has done to get to this level of success, and the team joins me in our excitement to move forward with Frontline in reshaping the way the K-12 community thinks about human capital management.”

Frontline Technologies, which is best known for the Aesop substitute placement and absence management system, serves more than 4,000 school districts. Additionally, Frontline offers VeriTime, a time and attendance management system, and Jobulator, a job notification tool for substitute teachers using Aesop.

Frontline plans to continue its expansion into K-12 human capital management software through the development and acquisition of new products

“Our K-12 customers tell us that they are inundated with too many systems and vendors,” said Frontline Technologies Managing Partner Roland Thompson. “At some point, it becomes unmanageable. District human resources professionals have said they want to move towards a single provider but still want access to best-of-breed products. Our strategy offers access to the best products along with the added benefits of shared data, integrated functionality and a single vendor relationship.”
