As we do every half year, last week Insight celebrated the contributions of women in tech at our Women of Insight dinner party. Hosted, this time, on a roof deck in Greenwich Village, we gathered the past & present women of Insight to share their recent experiences, advice, a great meal and summer rosé.
We were fortunate to host Insight alumnae Yulia Gudish, founder and CEO of fashion startup Village Luxe, Amy Wu, VP Finance & Operations of content marketing platform Newscred, and Charlene Chen, Head of Customer & Business Development at Locality. Since their time at Insight they’ve extended their successful careers in tech, launching and scaling businesses through product, marketing and sales excellence.
Our Summer Party reflects Insight’s pride in our tradition of supporting and fostering women who are leaders in the tech community. We are strongly committed to gender diversity and applaud the “Gender Bias Pledge” taken by Ed Zimmerman from Lowenstein Sandler, LLP. Insight has also signed the National Venture Capital Association’s “Diversity Letter” delivered to POTUS at the White House Demo Day on August 4th, where we pledged to track diversity at our firm and our portfolio companies and adopt HR policies to create work environments that foster respect and dignity for all. Insight also commits to visible leadership by sharing regularly within our community and throughout our portfolio the best practices that demonstrate a long term commitment to diversity and change.
For our Insight #WomenInTech party the evening was an opportunity to learn from one other and reminisce about our deals and the work that has impacted our careers. While discussing tech industry trends, unicorns, valuation and growth at our portfolio companies, we discussed the evolving landscape for women in the tech market. It was a bright summer’s evening in New York; we had a strong sense of a bright future for the Women of Insight as current and future innovators and leaders in tech.
