AI for supply chain: How Lyric is helping enterprises optimize their supply chains and navigate uncertainty

When we first met Ganesh Ramakrishna, we were immediately struck by his clarity of thought and depth of experience. A seasoned entrepreneur with a track record in supply chain analytics, Ganesh had previously founded Opex Analytics, which was acquired by Llamasoft and ultimately integrated into Coupa. Along the way, he saw firsthand the limitations of legacy tools—rigid architectures, siloed workflows, and high cost of ownership. He envisioned something fundamentally better.

That vision became Lyric, founded in 2021 to reimagine how global enterprises design and deploy supply chain decision models.

Why Now: From Static Planning to Real-Time Decisioning

The last several years have underscored just how brittle global supply chains can be. From pandemic-related disruptions to shipping congestion, and most recently, to a cascade of new tariffs, sanctions, and shifting trade policies, supply chain leaders are being asked to respond faster and with greater precision than ever before.

These changes haven’t just complicated logistics—they’ve reshaped the strategic questions enterprises must answer:

  • How do newly announced tariffs affect our cost to serve?
  • Which sourcing or routing options can protect margins in this new environment?
  • How do we weigh lead time versus landed cost across shifting global constraints?

Legacy tools weren’t built to answer these questions. Most were designed for stable operating environments—where demand forecasts changed quarterly, not hourly, and where cross-border trade was a constant, not a variable.

Today, the decision-making layer of the supply chain has become mission-critical. Companies need tools that can simulate scenarios, optimize decisions, and deploy changes—often in real time. That’s where Lyric comes in.

A Composable, AI-Native Approach

Lyric addresses these challenges with a next-gen platform purpose-built for modern enterprise needs. It integrates directly with a company’s data infrastructure and offers a visual, low-code environment for designing complex supply chain models. Users—from analysts to functional leaders—can build workflows by combining reusable, modular logic blocks, mixing pre-built templates with custom algorithms as needed.

The result is faster iteration, shorter time-to-value, and the ability to simulate scenarios across a wide range of constraints—like tariffs, fulfillment SLAs, or capacity limits—without starting from scratch each time.

It’s a new paradigm for supply chain design: composable, collaborative, and AI-native.

Trusted by Global Brands

Enterprises including Coca-Cola Consolidated, PepsiCo, Estée Lauder, and Krispy Kreme are already leveraging Lyric to inform decisioning across key workflows. Some began with targeted use cases—like tariff impact modeling—while others have expanded into broader areas like network design and dynamic routing.

Across these deployments, the feedback has been consistent: Lyric dramatically reduces the time and effort required to build and adapt decision models, unlocking speed and flexibility that legacy tools can’t match.

Founder-Market Fit

Ganesh’s background uniquely positioned him to build Lyric. With decades of experience at the intersection of analytics and operations, he saw the growing disconnect between what enterprises needed and what software vendors could provide. Lyric reflects his insight that modern decision-making must be dynamic, data-rich, and user-driven.

His thoughtful leadership—and the strong team he’s built around him—gave us deep conviction that Lyric wasn’t just building a product, but defining a category.

Why We’re Excited

At Insight, we partner with visionary founders solving generational problems. Ganesh and the Lyric team are doing just that—arming enterprises with the tools they need to navigate today’s volatility and tomorrow’s complexity.

In a world where tariffs, trade policy, and global shocks are the new normal, Lyric is turning agility into a competitive advantage.

We’re thrilled to be part of the journey.
