Insight Venture Partners’ Managing Director Ryan Hinkle Named to the 2015 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List

Global  venture capital and private equity firm Insight Venture Partners is pleased to announce that Ryan Hinkle has been named to the 2015 GrowthCap Top 40 Under 40 Growth Investors List. This is the second year in a row that Mr. Hinkle is ranked on the list which highlights exceptional private capital investors in the growth equity market.

"The growth in software and technology investment opportunities as a result of global connectivity through the Internet and smartphones makes this a very exciting time to work in later-stage investing," said Ryan Hinkle, managing director at Insight Venture Partners. Earlier this year, Insight announced the close of two growth and buyout funds totaling $4.75 billion, the firm's largest to date. The new capital will be invested in rapidly-growing global software and technology companies in both control and minority transactions. Hinkle invests in both of these types of transactions in Internet, application and software companies across Europe, Asia and North America.

Hinkle joined Insight Venture Partners in 2003 and became Managing Director in 2012. His recent major investments include e2open, Instructure, SMS Assist, Turnitin and Workforce Software. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors of Branding Brand, Pluralsight and Smartsheet. Prior investments include Ozsale (IPO on AIM), AdColony (acquired by Opera Software), Chegg (IPO on NASDAQ), ECi Solutions (acquired by Carlyle Group), Argus Software (acquired by Altus Group) and Punch! Software (acquired by Navarre Corporation).  

Hinkle graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Finance from Wharton and Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
