Bruce Epstein joined Insight in 2020 as EVP of Engineering. He strives to build indispensable data-centric tools that provide qualitative and quantitative insights while driving operational efficiency. His specialties include systems analysis, achieving 10x productivity increases, and creating order out of chaos.
Bruce has been a software engineer for over 35 years, and a hands-on technical manager, VP, and CTO for over 20 years. He has built and run engineering departments in companies ranging from 3-person startups to multi-billion dollar conglomerates. He has created data-driven websites, applications, and SaaS platforms in PropTech, FinTech, EduTech, pharma, e-commerce, streaming media, and other market segments for small, midsize, and Fortune 500 companies including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, AOL, Disney, Walmart, Pfizer, SiriusXM, The Hartford, SunLife, Nestle, Nokia, and AT&T. Most recently, he headed engineering at Industrious, a premium co-working provider based in NYC.
Bruce is the author, co-author, developmental editor, and/or technical editor of over a dozen computer books covering programming fundamentals, web development, streaming media, and related topics. He is a frequent blogger and has spoken on software engineering topics at multiple conferences sponsored by Adobe, O’Reilly, and others.
Bruce earned his S.B. in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering (with a focus in Avionics and a concentration in Economics) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. As an undergraduate, he was a visiting student at the University of Pennsylvania, taking classes both at Wharton and in the graduate school of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Bruce lives in New Jersey with his wife and is the proud father of three adult children.
