Insight Venture Partners Names Two New Managing Directors

Insight Venture Partners, a leading software and Internet-focused New York private equity and venture capital firm, is pleased to announce the appointments of Richard Wells and Alex Crisses as Managing Directors of the firm.

"Richard and Alex have been instrumental in the success of Insight during the past decade and will provide superb leadership as partners,'' said Jeff Horing, Managing Director of the firm.  "They will be instrumental in helping us deploy the $2 billion of capital we raised last year, and will continue to work closely with executives at their respective portfolio companies, with whom they've developed strong trust.''

About Alex Crisses

Crisses, 31, is a 10-year veteran at Insight and focuses on infrastructure software and Internet investments.  Prior to joining Insight, Crisses worked as an investment-banking analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston. A graduate of the Wharton School of Business, he also earned an MBA and graduated as a Baker Scholar from the Harvard Business School.  He lives in New York with his wife and daughter.

At Insight, Crisses has served on the Board of Directors for the following companies: GFI Software, TeamViewer, 6 Waves and Jagex Limited.  Formerly he served on the board of Ticket Monster (acquired by LivingSocial).

About Richard Wells

Wells, 34, joined Insight in 2005 after working at Technology Crossover Ventures, Veritas Software (now part of Symantec) and Paciolan Systems (now part of Ticketmaster.)  He graduated with highest honors from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an MBA at the Harvard Business School. A Southern California native, he lives in New York with his wife and son, but proudly roots for the Boston Red Sox.

Wells serves on the Boards of Directors for the following companies: Enigma , BeyondTrust, HealthcareSource, Metalogix, PHD Virtual and Smartbear Software. Previously he served on the boards of Netsmart Technologies (acquired by Genstar Capital) and Primavera Systems (acquired by Oracle Corp.)
